What a CTE diploma means to me!

Digital Design

In high school there are two diplomas a student may choose to achieve when they graduate. One is the regents diploma and the other is the advanced regents diploma. The regular regents diploma is needed to graduate high school it shows that you have basic high school knowledge as well. The advanced regents diploma shows that the student took tougher courses in school, the differences between the two diplomas is the credits needed for each and the regents exams needed to take. Between the two the regular regents diploma requires less LOTE (Language other than English) credits than the advanced regents diploma it also requires you to take the LOTE Exam, another difference that can be seen is in the electives it requires 7 credits for electives while the advanced diploma requires 3. If you are in a CTE Academy for the advanced regents diploma you are only required to have 2 credits for LOTE and you are not required to take the LOTE Exam and for electives the CTE academy covers the credits for that as well.

These are the requirements:

On top of having the opportunity to achieve an advanced regents diploma I also have the opportunity to achieve a CTE endorsement. I get the CTE endorsement by completing one of the CTE academies such as Web Design. Completing a CTE endorsement would benefit me personally by separating me from other students the endorsement would put me above most other students. And it will also help colleges choose me because having a CTE endorsement separates you from other students. The unique benefits from obtaining the endorsement through the Web Design Academy is that I will have learned a set of skills that will be useful in the future. Since we all live by technology the skills gained from the web design academy will be useful to find a job in technology. This is how much  achieving the CTE diploma means to me and also the advanced regents diploma as well.
