Brian Velazquez                                                                                                                 Digital Design          In lab #8 what we needed to create was a Lab Index where all of our previous labs can be viewed and you can be taken to those labs by clicking on them. When doing this lab we were first introduced to the FTP software FileZilla. With FileZilla we had to connect to our class server and upload all of our labs to the server so now it can be all viewed online. The lab index was very simple to do because all it just really was a table in which all our labs can be viewed on. I added images to my table so if people visited my lab index they can...

Brian Velazquez                                                                                                                Digital Design             In lab #7 what we needed to do was create our very own Favicons for our webpages. A favicon is short for favorite icon it is usually located on the tab of the webpage to the left. Mostly every website contains its own a favicon logo for there webpages. We created our own favicon on Code.org using the color pixelation tool we created these favicons to add to our own webpages. After finishing creating our own favicon we then had to make a webpage containing an image of our favicon and answers to three questions. Those three questio...

These three topics were Internet Censorship, Net Neutrality, and Protocol Vulnerability and/or Hack these topics are very important to today because they can affect the internet that we all use today. The topic I chose to talk about was Internet Censorship for this lab we had to write a script on how the issue effects us and if whether I support it or n...

Brian Velazquez                                                                                                                 Digital Design             In lab #5 we had to make another table similar to what we did in lab #4 but instead of colors and hexadecimal values, this table was to be made containing are favorite things. Such as our favorite movies, foods, songs, and school subjects. In this lab what we used were tables and lists, the tags that we used to create the list were the <ul> and <ol> tags to place items inside the lists we then used the <li> tag which means list item. This lab was overall a very simple thing to complete since it was just a list ...

Brian Velazquez                                                                                                                 Digital Design             In this lab #4 what we had to do was create a table with different hues and the hexadecimals corresponding with those specific hues. In order to be able to complete this lab we had to use the <table> tag and the other tags going with it including <tr>, <th>, and <td>. The <th> tag was used in order to make a title for are columns in our tables, the <tr> tag was used to create rows on your table, and last but not least was the <td> tag this was used to make columns in the tables. In all o...

But instead of only kids particapting in this event people aged 50 or older learned how to code with the help of a student volunteer. The event was part of a initiative by Singapore's government to help senior ci...

Brian Velazquez                                                                                                                 Digital Design             Lab 3 isn't really built off of the other previous labs but is rather a new page itself. All of the pervious HTML tags were used, but this time we added hyperlinks to the web page. A hyperlink is when you can click on a text or image and it opens a webpage that the image or text is referring to. For this lab I had to create hyperlinks to my blog page, techteach.us, and w3schools for both text and images. For text after using the <a href-" URL of web page"> you would use <p> tag, and fo...

Lab #2 Reflection Journal

Brian Velazquez                                                                                                                 Digital Design            For Lab 2 we basically just built of Lab 1's HTML but I had to add 3 images of myself and all three of those images were suppose to be 3 different sizes. The image of myself was suppose to go  before the paragraph. Now to add an image to an HTML code, the image tag needs to be included in the code. Also the image source has to be included which can be done if the image is dragged into the software it is lines of codes are. The dimensions of the image can be manipulated by setting the height and width. Actually, only one valu...

The page was suppose to contain you name, title, lab#, and a brief paragraph describing yourself and little bit about what you like to do. The purpose of this lab is to start with the basics of HTML in order to learn it well because are next lab will be building on this one. The tags we used for this lab are <title>, <h1-6>, and the <p> tags. This is only suppose to be the beginning for the other labs. Without knowing these basics of HTML you won't be a...

WBL #2

Brian Velazquez                                                                                                             Digital Design             In today's WBL workshop we talked about the career paths that each of us want to take in the future and how to help us decide what we might want to do. We were also visited by some guest speakers who discussed community service opportunities, such as helping out in community gardens. To help us decide what career choice we might be interested in we learned about The Career DNA and the Holland Interest Code. The concept of the Holland Interest Code is that there are six groups of people who like different things such as going out doors, puzzl...

Blown To Bits Chapter 3

Brian Velazquez                                                                                                                Digital Design 1. An example of abstraction can be seen in a numerous amount of websites one is YouTube. Many people use this website use this website to view content from their favorite creators or make their very own videos. When browsing on to a web page with an animated advertisement on it the stuff that happens behind the scenes are very complex. First the IP address of the URL you searched for is given to our computers by DNS servers so we will be able to access the webpage. The advertisement is a bunch of packages made from bits that are being sent from the server. This is what...

Molly is currently working on the world's most advanced  humanoid robot to exist ( Northeastern’s  NASA robot Valkyrie). The article talks of how Molly came to be where she is now. Molly is currently figuring out how humans and robots can work together in space missions. Designing these robots to take on dangerous tasks in space can save human lives....

They presented a virtual reality system that lets you teleoperate a robot with the use of the oculus rift. The experiment takes the user into a VR control with multiple sensors so the user can match their movement to that of the robots so it will be able to complete various tasks. This system will also help blue-collar w...

Are you an expert in DNS?

Brian Velazquez                                                                                                             Digital Design 1. The internet uses IP addresses locate and send information to certain devices so devices can communicate with each other. 2. We don't need to know IP addresses because the DNS servers convert the URL's you search up into IP addresses. So we don't need to know the IP addresses just the URL of what you are searching for. 3. We need a Domain Name System because without the use of it searching for a specific website you want to look up will be difficult unless you have the IP of said website. With the DNS its much easier to find what you are looking for on the internet. 4. We a...

The first W was Why CTE students need WBL Workshops. We need these workshops so we can learned of what is required to be able to achieve a CTE diploma and not fall behind in anything that we have not completed. The second W discussed in the workshop was What are the WBL requirements. This W focused on the discipline policy, WBL application, and the confidentiality agreement all this things are required of us as CTE students. We need to follow these rules and agreements so we ...
